Jubilee MP Wants Raila Given Enough Security When He Arrives at JKIA from the US

Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny has asked police to allow National Super Alliance (NASA) to proceed with the grand reception for opposition leader Raila Odinga when he arrives at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) from the United Stares on Friday.

Kutuny urged police to provide adequate security for Raila and his supporters whe he jets back to the country from a week-long tour to the US.

Speaking on KTN, the MP said Raila should be given enough security personnel and a proper escort from the airport to the rally scheduled for Uhuru Park in Nairobi.

“I want to urge the police, when Baba will be arriving he should be given enough security, he should be given proper escort all the way to where they will be having the rally."

He added: "The issue of police saying they will not allow them Uhuru Park should not arise….they should be given that opportunity, let them ventilate."

While in the US, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader urged Western powers to intervene and help Kenya come out of the current political crisis.

"I have come to Washington to convey a simple message we need a much fuller engagement from the many arms of governance that your country possesses to assist the envoys based in Nairobi. The envoys’ efforts up to now have not succeeded in defusing the crisis, but let me be blunt again, they have sometimes contributed to the problem," Raila said in a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC on Thursday.

Raila has called for formation of a six-month transitional government to allow the country go to a fresh presidential election.

Security for what? But I agree they should be allowed to hold their rally and "ventilate", I have to say this man has energy. I mean, he hops around the globe like a 20 year old, jet lag and all doing f%% all! He just want to create an atmosphere of fear. What senate did he meet in the US apart from some low grade politicians? I hear he was bunking in his supporters houses not high class hotels as one would expect for a man of this caliber. I suspect may have had a kikombe of something at Akombe's house. Shady old man, he will wind up as Mugabe, all bitter and twisted to the end!
