Foreign Envoys Told to Revoke Raila, Kalonzo's Visas

A Jubilee MP has urged foreign envoys to withdraw visas of National Super Alliance (Nasa) leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and MPs supporting the swearing in of the opposition leader as the people's president.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen, Kieni MP Kanini Kega asked the diplomats to revoke traveling documents from the opposition lawmakers supporting the inauguration of Odinga set for January 30th.

Kega argued that by signing an affidavit to endorse the swearing-in of Odinga, the Nasa MPs are setting the country up for destruction and should therefore not be allowed to leave the country.

“If the international community is serious about ensuring Kenya remains peaceful, they should revoke visas of anyone who has appended their signature to endorse Raila Odinga’s swearing in,” said Kega.

“What the NASA legislators are trying to do is plunge this country into chaos with a plan to escape to other countries together with their families. That should not be allowed.”

He further said the revocation of visas should be extended to other leaders at the center of the swearing-in plan, including that of Odinga, Musyoka, Moses Wetang'ula and Musalia Mudavadi.

On Wednesday, opposition MPs began signing affidavits supporting the inauguration plan. MPs who have not signed it have until Monday to do so, failure to which their names will be published in the list of shame.

Rt. Hon Raila is the peoples' president acording to himself. But H.E. Uhuru is the President of Kenya. I am a Kenyan and Raila is not my president but Uhuru is. Who are these people that Raila represent apart from tribal grouping? Peace loving Kenyans, let us allow Raila to swear himself in and just watch... . .Hon. KALONZO, kindly keep off. .. That path is dangerous.
