ODM Condemns Arrest of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has condemned the arrest of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu.

In a statement sent to newsrooms on Wednesday, ODM termed the charges leveled against the Lady Justice  as “frivolous and reeking of political witch-hunt.”

The Opposition party further called on the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji not to allow himself be used to settle political scores. The outfit claimed that Mwilu's woes are linked to Supreme Court's decision to annul the 2017 presidential elections.

“In the matter of the DCJ Justice Mwilu, it is difficult not to be concerned about whether the DPP applied his mind to the requirements of Article 157(11) especially in light of Kenya’s recent History,” reads the statement from the office of the party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna.

“It is to be remembered that at the height of the fight for electoral justice the Judiciary came under sharp criticism with the Jubilee side promising to ‘revisit’ what they called ‘problems’ within the Judiciary following the annulment of the Presidential vote by the Supreme Court.”

Speaking during a media briefing on Mwilu's arrest on Tuesday, DPP Haji refuted clad that her case was part of the “we shall revisit” threats made by the ruling party after nullification of President Uhuru's win last year.

“However, the Party wishes to remind him (DPP Haji) not to open his office to manipulation especially by state and non-state actors. This is especially so when the charges he brings appear openly frivolous, lacking in substance, and reeking of political witch-hunt,” ODM added in the statement.

Ofcourse they will condemn it coz they eat the corruption together.Mwilu is said to b Amos wako wife n before 2017 president elections were cancelled it was said they met at a particular residence accompanied by this mwilu yet she was to bring the final judgment about elections n for sure they did making the elections to b repeated. This idiot of a learned woman couldn’t even read his written judgment showing it to the public that clearly she didn’t write it.It was said that final judgment was written by orengo/Amos wako n his odm fools. This mwilu was used but that’s what u get by mixing up with odm thugs. But mungu wetu wakirinyaga harari juu even if the elections were repeated 10000x Uhuruto could have bin voted.
Lady evil mwilu your career is over.Present your case about corruption n invading taxes then we can see if ur bin targeted. As the waswahili quoted siku za mwizi ni arobaini nazako zimefika. This 6 judges were said to have bin bribed 200m ksh by Kidero n one judge was given a deal to retire early.Mr DPP please follow up that case sir.

The bitch stole from the public she should be held accountable. She is not above the law. ODM is run by dumb people don't think right. For a long time Kenyans have been yawning for a leader who will tickle corruption fearlessly. Is that not what Uhuru and Ruto are doing? How come it's okay to jail a cat killer for ten years and not okay to arrest a corrupt deputy chief justice? I careless for the bitch. She need to be jailed for a long time

Is this rebuke of Mwilu's arrest self-serving on ODM? Let's remember Mwilu is Wako's squeeze and Wako is in ODM. No one is above the law; a thief is a thief and corruption is stealing.

ODM has displayed it's lack of leadership again. Why not allow Justice Philomena Mwilu to go through the court proceedings and come out clean. Everyone that is caught with corruption should run to their party and say it's witch hunt. As of today those Supreme Court judges should not be allowed to preside over any cases until we change our current system to a jury system. This whole thing with the justice system and ODM stinks to high heaven. Kenya does not have a judicial system. What we have is a bunch of corrupt judges that are unethical, have no respect for the law or the country. We need judicial overhaul. God help Kenya!!

Shame on ODM. The fight is about official corruption. No one is above the law. Corruption is a contagious disease which needs to be uprooted no matter who you are. The justice system in Kenya is extremely corrupted. We should not inject politics anywhere near this major war on official corruption. No case should be stopped just because the accused has seniority somewhere. She should have remained in jail until the case is heard. Corrupted, corrupted, corrupted.
