Results of the 2020 Diversity Visa Program (Green Card Lottery) to be Available Online Beginning Tuesday, May 7th

Results of the 2020 Diversity Visa program (DV-2020), popularly referred to as the Green Card lottery, will be available online beginning next week, Tuesday May 7th, 2019.

Results will only be available online at the State Department website.

Entrants will check if they won by entering their confirmation number and personal information.

The DV-2020 lottery registration period began on October 3rd, 2018 and ended on November 6th, 2018. The US State Department will begin procession visas and conducting interviews for the eventual winners starting in October, 2019, with those who pass the interviews, background checks and other qualifications such as high school education and/or work experience being granted permanent resident visas.

The Diversity Visa program, which is administered by the State Department, makes 50,000 permanent resident visas available annually to nationals of countries with low immigration rates to the United States over the previous five years. Kenya is one of the countries whose nationals qualified to participate in the DV-2020 lottery.

No no no.
The green card ONLY allows you to live and work in the United States permanently.

There is absolutely no financial support from the US government.

Since you can work, you should be able to support yourself without government assistance. There are many opportunities to work depending on your skills.

Please get out of your mind receiving any housing assistance. If you work hard, you will succeed much better than depending on government assistance.

I won Lottery Visa in 2004. I came I Us the same year. I never received any assistance from anyone. I didn't received housing or transportation. When you go to the interview you are told you will not qualify for any government assistance. I found out they were not kidding when the hospital social worker applied for WIC benefits after I had my first child.
I really don't know why people think that lottery visa winners receive all kind of stuff for free.
I worked hard since I came and payed taxes every year...

No they don't give you a house, but you will get a social security card to work and receive other benefits, a green card that will allow you to be a permanent resident until you decide to apply for citizenship after 5 years. You will be allowed to travel outside of the country and come back anytime you want without a Visa. A job, you will have to search on your own which is not very hard especially for someone that speaks English. However, you will need to know someone that will welcome you. You definitely need a place where you will be staying at until you get your own place. The USA will not provide a house or food for you, just grant you access to the system, which is more than enough. By working, you will be capable of taking care of yourself. This is the perfect time to move in the USA in terms of jobs searching, only for that.

One thing about Trumpland, the whoppers get bigger every day. Must be jokers and troublemakers.

Worst part is people believe this crap. So if you make it here having an education is nice. You might at least find some kind of a job. What I can't figure out is why anyone would come to Trumpland.

I'm a U.S. citizen and if I could afford it, I wouldn't be be here and I've had family here 300 yrs.

There's is no automatic house or job,you would be responsible for your your self.
If you don't know any one there, I bet you would regret coming. It worth it at long run.
Before you are granted visa, you have to pay your Visa fee and go for medical check up and get vaccinated.
I'm talking from experience, i won few years ago it was not easy as people thought it was.

No such thing as free housing, once selected you must at least have enough money in your account to help you start a new life once you arrive in the United States. The other option is for you to have a friend or relative in the US to sponsor you. There’s a form they give them to fill out and are also required to be making at least $58000 a year to be able to sponsor someone. Pretty much that’s it provided you meet the rest of the requirements.

There is mo such thing of being given a house or employment. However with hard work and dedication you will be able to own a house one day. Employment is not an issue right now. Work hard, obey the law and you will be fine. Lots of opportunities here. I won the lottery back in 2009, came in 2010 and has been a US citizen since 2015. I have a great job, own my home and brought over me wife and kids who have all become US citizen as well. Good luck.

Nope, the US government will not offer you anything apart from the Green Card, you are responsible for your apartment, food, work etc.Matter of fact all these will be checked during your interview. Note, you winning the Green Card lottery does not guarantee 100 percent that you will have the green card visa to US.

Nope you get nothing other than permanent residence and opportunity to live the american dream, you get to live where ever you want and work any kind of job provided you are qualified for it. Non green card holders dont have such benefits. You will cover all expenses from visa application to flight ticket and also prove to show you can support yourself while over there. You have to have someone over there you can live with. About the house and car, if you make use of this great opportunity by working hard, you wont need free property 😊

it's crucial you know someone there who's ready to receive you.

There are so many Kenyans who have left the country and have come back. Talk to them and trust what they tell you. Do thorough research and homework before you make a decision. Changing from one culture to another, leaving your family and friends behind (Not knowing whether you will ever see them again is not easy). That decision involves more than just winning a lottery.
For some, it has become a choice between life and death.
This is the reason corruption (starting with our leaders) in Kenya is a matter of life and death. Do researcher and more research; homework and more homework. You will make a more intelligent decision.

Internet isn't for shopping, social media, watching Netflix & pornos only. It's a good learning tool too.

JEEEZ US imefanya watu wakuwe na "machungu"- Bitterness. Si mjibu swali na uzuri jamani. Not everyone automatically knows about the green card process and what it entails. It took me two years to even find out details about the process or even believe it's actually true. I didn't know anyone who had won a greencard back in Kenya. I had heard about how people are duped. I had never tried to participate in the lottery. Being in the US was an eye-opener, I saw people's lives being changed and heard first hand accounts from people who won and came through the lotto process. I could say confidently that what really drove me to finally apply for it was the high cost of education as an international student and what do you know... First time I embarked on it, five people won- in my family. People who didn't even believe in the process and needed to be pushed because of what I had seen. Anyway... Colince if you win, find someone to accomodate you and get ready to work. They say watu wa green card hulalia masikio sana- it's true

Never lose hope. If u r selected, Your fate lies in the hands of the immigration officer who reviews your documents and interviews u. If he thinks it was a mistake, u may get ur visa. If he thinks you r impersonating, your visa will not only get refused but you'll be banned from entering the US for a while....maybe 10years!

You should apply on the official USA state department, NOT any 3rd party that will steal money from you.
If you can not get the confirmation number you can’t findo anything.
Next time apply via official website.

It’s easy when you come together with your families one time.
Living by your self during all this time, it’s not good.
That may get you so many times and make trouble in your love for them.

David (not verified)     Tue, 04/30/2019 @ 07:35am

Winning lottery does not guarantee immigrant visa. Best change is max 50%. As a recipient of dv visa, do you know that successful interview you need to have 2 US sponsors (who guarantee not to be public charge) and cash at least 1 yr income and many more. Nothing is free when entering USA, basically you are on your own.

mkenya halisi (not verified)     Tue, 04/30/2019 @ 07:45am

@collince i will give u free advice that if u have something better giving u cash n ur able to pay yr bills without huddling too much n u can still save kasomething please trash or shred that greencard juu ukienda u will regret but if u don't have anything n ur young hey get the ticket n fly out to go try yr luck u may b lucky if u put yr brains together or u will b faked for yr entire life.Diaspora is for hustlers n if ur not one of them stick yr ass home. Many with good brains worked their asses off, went to school n are enjoying life there but many also got lost they r ashamed once they hear something who knows them have moved to their state they will hide n u will never see them so they r ashamed big time.

Victorine Mogeh (not verified)     Tue, 04/30/2019 @ 01:36pm

As a beneficiary of the lottery who doesn't want to come to US immediately with the winner within the period given. Can he apply any time to come over without any troubles??

mkenya halisi (not verified)     Tue, 04/30/2019 @ 07:15pm

@formelyguest2 many have mistaken me when i write negatives about the usa thinking i hate usa which i don't but i always reminds diasporas that the kenyans who r doing well or rich for that matter wako hapa jamhuri.Diaspora is for the hustlers n lost folks but tukienda usa/uk/australia diasporas think wamefika heaven which is total nonsense juu many diasporas they don't tell the truth about the life huko majuu.
