Kenyan Student at Stanford University in California Found Dead at On-Campus Residence

An undergraduate co-term student at Stanford University was found dead at an on-campus residence on Friday, just days before commencement.
The university's Vice Provost for Student Affairs Susie Brubaker-Cole broke the news about the student's death in an email to the campus community.
"We have lost another member of our student community. Police this afternoon have confirmed the death of an undergraduate co-term student who was found in a residence on campus," the Provost said.
"We have been in touch with the student’s family this afternoon. While we are working to understand the family’s wishes, we are not in a position to share the identity of the student."
Mwakilishi.com has established that the deceased is a Kenyan student identified as Norah Jelagat Borus.
Ms. Jelagat was the best performing girl in Nairobi County in the 2013 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination and fourth best nationally.
She was reportedly admitted to the California-based University to study engineering.
The cause and date of death remain unknown. Police said there was “no ongoing safety threat to the campus community.”
This is the fourth student death announced by Stanford since February this year.

That's true, it can be very traumatizing, when you not only have to prove yourself, but also compete with your peers and try to fit in. Poleni...its truly a tragedy.
