Starehe MP Charles Jaguar Charged with Incitement to Violence, Freed on Sh500,000 Cash Bail

Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua alias Jaguar has on Wednesday been arraigned in court where he was charged with incitement to violence.

Appearing before Milimani Court Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, Jaguar denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh500,000.

The court heard that the politician made utterances intended to incite Kenyans against foreign nationals living in the country.

He is accused of committing the offense at Nyamakima in Nairobi on June 24th. The accused has been in police custody since his arrest on June 26th.

Jaguar was arrested last Wednesday by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) outside Parliament buildings.

He was arrested a day after he was captured on camera threatening to forcefully evict foreigner traders operating shops in Nairobi.

The case will be mentioned on July 17th, this year.

Stop wasting taxpayers money. All he did was speak the truth. To eliminate theft and high suicide rates among Kenyan youth give them hope .Not everybody will be employed however allowing foreignors to set up businesses here to compete with the youth or even mama mbogas is totally unfair.Local businesses must and should always be protected even in the USA we have small business appreciation day. When I want to buy roasted maize, njugu karanga, sugar cane or traditional green vegetables I expect to get it from a Kenyan not some Chinese congolese tanzanian or Ugandan. If anything I am willing to pay more to get it from a Kenyan and not some foreignor in Kenya doing " business"
