Kenyan Church Burglar Leaves Behind Apology Letter to Congregants after Finding No Cash

Police officers in Engineer town, Nyandarua County have opened investigations into an incident where a local church was broken into by an unknown person who left behind a handwritten apology letter.
The suspect broke into the church through the wall with the aim of stealing some cash after a church member sent him.
In a letter addressed to the church's congregants, the burglar said the member had informed him that some money had been kept in the church.
He, however, says he found no cash after breaking into the church and wants them to pray for him.
“Dear my fellow Christians, first and foremost good morning. I was sent here by one of your fellow Christians who told me that the amount of money has been kept inside the church. but I got nothing. God bless you all and pray for me, thanks,” read the letter.
“Letter from the person who broke the church," he signed off.
Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) Church leader, Reverend Peter Wanyoike said they found the letter in the church when police arrived, adding that some money was missing.
“We found the letter in the church when the police arrived to start their investigations. We believe there was some money in church. We have forgiven him, we are praying for him to get saved, he is welcome to confess and worship with us,” said Wanyoike.
Nyandarua Police Commander Gideon Ngumi said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
