I Have Two Wives, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko Says
Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko now says he is in a polygamous marriage. Sonko made the revelation during the memorial service of late Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth at Moi Girls School in Nairobi on Thursday.
Governor Sonko, who was addressing reports that Okoth had sired a child outside his marriage with his Italian wife Monica, said he has two wives.
Sonko said Okoth’s family members including his widow Monica should accept the other woman and her child, adding that the country’s law allows a man to have more than one spouse.
“It is not right to divide the family of Ken. President Uhuru Kenyatta passed a Bill allowing men to marry many wives; I also have two wives,” said Sonko, whose only known wife is Primrose Mbuvi.
Sonko also claimed that he was aware that Okoth had a second wife, with whom they had a son together.
“The Late Ken Okoth has a child named Okoth with one Annitah, who is a nominated MCA in the County Assembly of Nairobi. Let us not lie to ourselves,” Sonko said.
Sonko was referring to Ms. Anne Muthoni Thumbi, who has since obtained court orders stopping Okoth’s burial or cremation.
Ms. Muthoni filed the case on behalf of a minor, who she claims is a biological son of Mr. Okoth. She named Okoth’s mother Angeline Okoth, his wife Monica Okoth and Lee Funeral Home as respondents in the case.
Ms. Muthoni claimed that Okoth’s family unilaterally decided to have his body cremated in order to destroy any evidence of the boy’s lineage to the deceased.
“The mother and the wife (of the deceased) have deliberately and unfortunately opted to exclude me from the funeral and burial arrangements of Okoth,” claims Ms. Muthoni, who is the minor’s mother.
The matter will be heard on August 9th, 2019 before Senior Principal Magistrate Hon. Addah Obura.

See, I dont understand why aman needs more than one wife in today's world.I can understand when wazee in the50s and beyond did that.Most lived on vast land that needed many hands of labor;not to mention life span was about may be 40 for men...
In addition, it was a status symbol since only the rich could afford many wives.
Pretty much women stayed home with the kids,and there was no schooling.And depended on men for survival. You cannot not say same for today.She can earn her own livelihood.

Yes men were warriors / They concurred other men and took their wives. Men where driven by the desire to have many women. Such behavior today,is reckless,and irresponsible.If we want to continues doing that, lets go back to 1800.In a nut shell, men are programed to sow wild oats.But SCIENCE my religion, tells us that, thats not true. Women are capable,and do have flings for the sake of it.Especially when you lift social constraints.
Societies have largely been shaped by men,because of their brain,and brawn.But today, muscles are not needed.We have machines that do our heavy lifting.Women even have vibrators that go 24/7,by passing the minute-man by miles.
Finally, what is it that one wife cannnot give you that you have to have asecond... third...4th...?that is every thing being equal.
My support for one wife has nothing to do with religion.Infact my SCIENCE says that we were not designed to be monogamous.Thats why you see alot of cheating. I find one wife,or girl ahandful.I also have my life to live.Cannot see how I can spread my scarce time and resources to more than one female.And yes, Iam pretty manly,so dont thing Iam saying this because Iam aweakling.
