VIDEO: Gospel Singer Jimmy Gait Shocked as Indian Doctors Discover Kenyan Medics Misdiagnosed Him

Kenyan gospel singer Jimmy Gait says he will not be undergoing throat surgery as earlier announced.

Gait, who flew to India for specialized treatment two weeks ago, said medical tests done on him in India revealed that he was misdiagnosed by Kenyan doctors.

The ‘Appointment’ hit-maker said doctors in Nairobi diagnosed him with a strange throat condition and recommended an operation.

In a new video shared on social media by Gait, Dr. Sanjay Khanna, who has been treating him at BLK Hospital in India, said the musician had no throat condition but was suffering from increased acid production, leading to an infection in his stomach.

Dr. Khanna also mentioned that Gait was responding positively to medication and would be released soon.

In the video, the singer explains that he was shocked that Kenyan doctors quickly recommended surgery before carrying out any tests on him, suggesting that they were only out for his money.

He explains how he was taken through comprehensive medical tests in India to establish what exactly he was suffering from.

If there was malpractice then the kenyan doctors should be sued. You would think more tests means more money for the doctors...

Hii ni unyama, incompetence or both. How can a case of acid reflux result in surgery? Why the flagrant decision when you know all you need to do is scope to find out more. Such doctors need to be exposed to the public for they are imposters and could kill.

At Nairobi hospital they did 100 diagnostic tests on bob collymore and were unable to detect leukemia. He had to seek second opinion elsewhere to find out the true diagnosis. RIP bob.
There is something grossly wrong with our systems and processes.
May God help our country.

This happens all the time. It's always wise to seek a second opinion before any surgeries are performed. But we have to admit that some doctors will use Google to diagnose a sickness.

Good for you and you should be glad you didn't rely on Kenyan doctors. Even though I know some Kenyan doctors who are good and mean well and knowledgeable in their field, there are also so many doctors in Kenya that falls into the group of the two doctors that misdiagnosed you. They rush into medical judgement for profit and end up killing patients who would otherwise been simply cured by administering the right medical process as you saw in India. Having said that, I think you are putting too much into some imaginary powers in the sky. The fact of the matter is that you did the right thing and you got the right result. Nothing right comes without doing the right thing. It's not like people's prayers saved you! You would still have been in dire situation even with all those prayers you're referring to if you would have not done the right thing, which in this case was seeking the right treatment. All in all, I'm glad you have a good ending story to tell.

these Kenyan "doctors" lakini bana, how are you diagnosing people just by looking at people lakini bana?! what happened to the cuban doctors? scary shit. even simple things like blood tests can tell a lot about a pt. however, medicine is different in Kenya. wameiba mbaka university is useless learning. mafi kabisa

so glad Jimmy Gait is well. H. Pylori is easily diagnosed and treated. No Kenyan should go overseas for such simple diagnoses. Anyways, let's not crucify all Kenyan doctors...many are spot on with their diagnoses and this case should not be used to flay all doctors.

Natuombe....

A friend of mine who went to india for kidney transplant luckily successful informed us that there were many patients from Kenya who had been diagnosed wrongly . Luckily the doctors in India do their own tests the only problem is if the treatment is more expensive than the patient budget or the healing process is longer than planned also in regard to flight ticket , accommodation and food . patients travel with care takers . our medical system is to be pitied or greed or luck of knowledge by our doctors or right testing equipment

I heard that West Africans living Germany, recently attacked a Nigerian Senator, when he went there for treatment. Reason? Going overseas for treatment, instead of bulding hospitals back home! Good people, treatment is not about the physical buildings, and facilities... It is the care, and humanity, of the person treating you, that heals. The facilities in India are no better than those in Africa, but the success rate in healing there is higher than even in Western Nations. The main reason is that an Indian doctor gains more satisfaction in healing, than in the money that you pay him. The Human Aspect is more important to recovery, than Money.

Very sad indeed. While there are many good doctors in Kenya who professionally practice medicine, there is a big number of them who are sadly driven by greed and selfishly drive patients and families into untold agony. It's evil and very unfortunate because if it doesn't catch up on them it will hit on their own.
Very very sadly KMPDU turns a blind eye on all these malpractices and instead orchestrate a perennial agitation for medics to go on strike pretending they are seeking for better terms of service. One wonders, for a people who have been elected to ONLY negotiate for better terms of service for their members from January to December have nothing much or very little to show hence their failure to negotiate timely and skillfully only leads to patients suffering when docs go on strike and creates a rift between their members and their employer. Again with all due respect and understanding that doctors are human and have needs like anyone else but does that negate their primary duty, code of ethics and moral responsibility as people endowed with special skills for life saving? Elsewhere in the world, doctors are among the professions who never go on strike no matter what.Hospitals are known to accept and treat patients on emergency whether they can afford or not.Hospitals are not restaurants where people walk in to be served their meal of choice.
Those who are true to the calling keep up the good work but also help to remove the killers masquerading among you and the union officials who lack the skills to negotiate for your better working terms.
