Estranged Kenyan Wife of Missing Nairobi-Based Dutch Tycoon Arrested

Detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Wednesday arrested the estranged Kenyan wife of missing Nairobi-based Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen.

Detectives apprehended Ms. Sarah Wairimu Kamotho and detained her at Muthaiga Police Station after questioning her for several hours over the disappearance of the billionaire, Capital News reported.

Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti said they are treating Wairimu as a prime suspect in the disappearance of Cohen, who they suspect may have been killed.

“She is the prime suspect and that is why she was arrested. We suspect he may have been killed and that is why we want to seek more time from the court to continue detaining her until the investigation is completed,” said Kinoti.

Kinoti said the investigation into the mysterious disappearance of Cohen could be extended to The Netherlands. Cohen is a former CEO of Dutch conglomerate Philips East Africa and has lived in Kenya for many years.

The tycoon was reportedly picked by a white car from his Kitisiru home on July 19th, 2019 while his phone went off near Parklands in Nairobi on July 20th.

Before his disappearance, Mr. Cohen had filed a divorce case and assault charges against Ms. Kamotho, who he has been married to for 12 years.

Earlier this month, investigators said they were unable to trace CCTV footage of his last moments at his house on July 19th as cameras at the gate were reinstalled on August 3rd, two weeks after he went missing.

Ms. Kamotho and Cohen’s workers allegedly told police that they tycoon had ordered removal and replacement of the CCTV cameras before he went missing.

Ms. Kamotho had reportedly told friends that Cohen had left for Thailand to seek treatment but records from the State Department of Immigration showed he never left the country.

Her name is Kamotho!; her husband has been missing for a while! What do you expect; eliminate him and live richly thereafter. The Kamothos are good at what they do ooh. Marry the Kamothos and the chances are you will die and lose everything earned!

Warning to older men. When you attract ayoung beauty with your wealth, usually that becomes your down fall.Yes iknow its very hard for a beuty to go for an old man who has nothing. In my opinion, what brings them together is financial union, where by one produces/supplies,and the other spends. When supply is threatened, lives are also threatened, or terminated. So as usual the first suspect is the beneficiary, or wife, especially ayoung one.
