Autopsy Reveals Four Kiambu Family Members including a US-Based Man May Have Been Killed by Lone Attacker

An autopsy carried out on the bodies of four family members killed in Kiambu has revealed they suffered painful deaths.

Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor who conducted the postmortem at Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home on Monday said chances are very high that the four were murdered by one attacker.

“If they were more than one, the weapon used was similar but I think it was one person from what I have seen,” said Oduor, adding that all the injuries were similar.

The examination further revealed that the knife used in the macabre killings had similar dimensions.

"They were mainly stab wounds on the chest. Some of them had slash wounds on the neck. The injuries looked pretty similar and measured almost the same. The measurements of the stab wounds varied between three to four centimeters,” Oduor told journalists.

Nicholas Njoroge Warunge, a US-based nurse, and his son Christian Njenga suffered the most injuries.

“It is like the person who killed the two was doing it with a lot of anger,” Oduor divulged.

Njoroge’s wife Ann Wanjiku appears to be the only one who tried to stop the attacker as he has broken arms.

“The other victims seemed to have been caught off guard,” Dr. Oduor said.

He added: “All of them died because of multiple injuries which are caused by blunt and penetrating trauma and also significant loss of blood.”

The three were killed alongside Maxwell Njenga, a nephew to Mr. Njoroge, and the family’s casual laborer James Kinyanjui.

Njoroge’s eldest son Lawrence Simon Warunge, a student at Mt. Kenya University, is the prime suspect in the murder.

On Monday, a Kiambu Court allowed police to detain Lawrence and his girlfriend Sarah Muthoni for 14 days pending the conclusion of investigations.

During interrogation, Warunge reportedly confessed to killing the five having researched on the internet the best way to eliminate them, adding that he was inspired by Villanelle, a psychopathic killer in the British show “Killing Eve”.

He also told detectives that he initially wanted to kill everyone in the family including his two sisters but the plan failed after they returned to school on January 5th.

A Monster kid!

This is exactly what DP Ruto is deliberately doing by poisoning the minds of many simple minded people to cause mayhem and anarchy in Kenya by providing alternative facts falsehood! Let’s face it head on!!

This child listened to a similar message which led to the killing of his entire family. Kenyans must listen carefully and rethink electing leaders who can incite ordinary citizens and could care less about the plight of their future and the the future of the country they so dearly love!

Not exactly sure how Ruto comes into the picture or even close to any normal thinking mind here. May the Living God give strength to the 2 siblings left behind and the family at large.
To Lawrence- many questions will remain unanswered about your actions. It is shocking!

I am not sure how Ruto comes in on this matter but we are entitled to our own opinion and analysis. For me, it mind boggling but having worked in mental health and addiction, is not entirely unexpected. We hear clients share about suicidal and homicidal ideation from time to time. People need to take these threats seriously. Homicidal ideations are fewer compared to suicidal per my experience, more want to kill themselves. This is scary, especially when the killer is within and is the lovely boi whom a parent has nurtured and loved. I sensed earlier on based on the initial reports from police and the report of this son's disappearance he was involved. Use of marijuana may also increase paranoia, delusions and distorted thinking hence homicidal thoughts. It is also mind boggling how one small guy can eliminate the whole family. It had to be the fact that he caught them unawares. It is very possible that a family member who comes in with a key and who was not expected will catch one unawares. For the dad, I wondered how he could free instead of shielding his family but then, thought that having being unaware who had accessed the home, he may have suspected they were thugs or people out to eliminate him particularly as they did his family members before. Given he is a diasporan, he may have believed he was the target. I can imagine he must have been bewildered after he fell, became incapacitated after hitting the wires and breaking his leg, and then realizing it was his son, alone, attacking. That is the only logical reason I can have over this boy killing all of them without much resistance. But Lord, this make me shiver. We have to take seriously those angry glares the kids give us sometimes, they are not innocent after all kumbe. He is not even remorseful when u look at his eyes. Kind of a psychopath; no trace of empathy. He said once he caught up with dad, he killed him like a snake, that he still attacked his brother despite pleading, had planned for 3 months, and that he would have got the sisters as well. It cannot get any scarier. Sasa, as a parent, if u realized your child is up to no good and he is hell bent to eliminate, would one have the courage to attack him to save self and others? The things people make others go through!

Why Ruto in this again. It is dumbfounding how reckless some individuals can be. How can a sane mind compare this sick boy with Ruto.Really is this where we have reached. Why would this Martin, introduce the issue of alternative facts. What in his juvenile minds are the real facts and who has control of them. What makes him think that he is smarter than all those people who subscribe to the DPs thinking.

There's no way this guy killed all this people by himself. Unless they were asleep and drunk. No way. And with just a knife?

Sue (not verified)     Thu, 01/14/2021 @ 02:24am

@Mike, totally agree with you. It’s hard to believe this man killed 5 people alone. What then happened to the other cases of the son’s father? They mentioned 4 other brothers/relatives to the deceased man either have been shot or killed mysteriously. Something is not right here.

This is like a horror novel or a movie how could 1 person attack 5 people one at a time n after learning for his Dad when he fell could they not have locked the door or what other powers did he had this is unbelievable something not right
But time will tell
