Dutch National Found Dead in Mombasa Apartment, Girlfriend Strapped in Car

Police in Mombasa have opened an investigation into the death of a 55-year-old Dutch national.

Herman Rouwenhorst was found dead in an apartment in Mombasa’s Shanzu area on Friday.

The body was discovered after police officers responded to a distress call of a woman near Serena Beach Hotel, according to reports.

Officers from Bamburi police station found the woman identified as Riziki Cherono tied on her car’s steering wheel. 

“She alleged that she was driven in her car to the said place from their apartment,” a police report filed at Bamburi police station under OB 6/4/6/2021 reads.

Officers untied her and accompanied her to the apartment named Rocco, where they found Rouwenhorst’s body lying on their bed, with his hands and legs tied using a rope, and mouth gagged.

“Also they established that a night guard by the Evans bleeding and unconscious,” the report adds.

The body of Rouwenhorst was taken to Pandya Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem examination to establish the cause of his death.

Reports indicate Cherono was in a relationship with the deceased and they lived together in the apartment.

I hope this investigators will do a great job coz these victims deserve some justice.What was the killers’ motive and why was the Kenyan woman spared from harm? How was she able to make a distressed call of her hands were tied? Something ain’t adding up here! I suspect foul play. 🧐🤔

Tie me on the wheels/beat up the guards don’t kill them then Kill the Dutch Guy.I smell a rat here but I hope the police will do their Job.First suspect is this chirono lady?Did they have monies in the bank/properties together??If they do then she is the suspect if they r broke suspect number 2
