Businessman Richard Ngatia Formally Launches Nairobi Gubernatorial Bid

Businessman Richard Ngatia has formally launched his bid for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
Ngatia, who is the President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), is eyeing the coveted position on a Jubilee Party ticket.
The businessman officially launched his candidature at an event held in Kangemi, Nairobi, where he received an endorsement from the Kikuyu Kiama elders.
Ngatia believes he is best placed to lead the county and has promised to bring back the glory of Nairobi and make it a smart city in the next three years.
He says he will use his business acumen to cement Nairobi’s place as the leading business hub in the region and address youth unemployment.
“Nyinyi vijana kila ward tutawapea machine kumi kutegeneza cabro na sisi kama county tutazinua tujenge mabarabara nazo,” he said during the launch.
Ngatia was flanked by former Kibwezi MP Philip Kaloki, who is poised to be his running mate.
He is expected to face off with business lady Agnes Kagure, incumbent Governor Ann Kananu, and businessman Polycarp Igathe for the Jubilee Party ticket.

Nairobi does not need to be run by politicians. It needs to be a special district run in the style of Washington DC. We have all seen the positive changes that have taken place after NMS took over some key functions.

An Army General need to be in charge of the Nairobi County. They are well trained to do whatever is necessary to develop the city. The two prior governors stole the county blind. Why not stick to military officers commanding functions in Nairobi??
