Martha Karua to Accompany Raila on Week-Long US Trip

Nark-Kenya leader Martha Karua is set to accompany Azimio-One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga on his trip to the United States.

Odinga will leave the country on Friday for a week-long tour of the US, where he is expected to meet American government officials, business leaders, and Kenyans in the diaspora.

It is believed that the 77-year-old former prime minister will use the tour to explain his State House bid and his agenda for the country to the international community.

He will first land in Washington DC, where he will hold a meeting with the Black Congressional Caucus and other US leaders.

An itinerary shared by Odinga’s presidential secretariat shows he will jet out of the country on April 22nd and return on May 29th to resume his campaigns.

The inclusion of Karua on the trip highlights her standing in the coalition, having been mentioned among potential running mates for Odinga, alongside Kalonzo Musyoka, Peter Kenneth, and Peter Munya.

Other leaders who will accompany Odinga include governors Wycliffe Oparanya (Kakamega), James Ongwae (Kisii), former Aldai MP Sally Kosgey, Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang, and Kathiani MP Robert Mbui.

The trip comes weeks after Raila visited the United Kingdom. During his tour in the UK, Odinga highlighted his agenda for Kenya and the reforms he will deliver should he ascend to power later this year.

He met the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and gave an address at the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House).

Odinga was accompanied by governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Hassan Joho (Mombasa), COTU secretary-general Francis Atwoli, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, Siaya Senator James Orengo, and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed.

Me think Martha Karua can be trusted due to her integrity. She can stand up against Raila if he does something not right. She stood up against moi when nobody couldn't dare

" From April 22nd to May 29th"?
A six weeks campaign tour in a vote dry area?
Those he is visiting " American government officials and Kenyans in the Diaspora" have no votes for him.
We are only 14 weeks to the elections and more than a third of that time he will spend in a dry vote area.
Either his advisers are misleading him or the real reason for his leaving the country is concealed.
Could Mr. Odinga be visiting a hospital for six weeks? Or could his campaign and quest for presidency be collapsing?
Only time will tell.

Leaders from countries that don’t support humanity should be banned from traveling to Europe and the USA. Someone may try to rubbish this for reasons that they don’t need to step foot in these places but why are they going there in the first place?
The other day Kenya decided not to support Ukrainians in the wake of illegal invasion and killings by Russia for the reason they didn’t want to irk their “relationships” with Russia . So much atrocious acts is perpetrated by Russia in Ukraine.
Raila we know has vested interests in Russia. Gas and others. And so is Uhuru family all through oil and it’s products.
Why would Kenya be proud to be part of Unisom then? To help protect who or what?
These leaders are so selfish. Theirs is not about humanity but vested interests. And in my view does not qualify to represent any high office of authority.

Totojinga, the Kenyan ambassador to UN just made an abstract admonition of Russia on the invasion and the killings in Ukraine but it came time to vote , he abstained with an excuse that it would sear bilateral relationships with them.
