Senator Sakaja Cleared to Vie for Nairobi Governor Seat

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has received the green light to run for the capital’s gubernatorial seat in the August 9th general elections.

Sakaja, who is vying on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket, was cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Tuesday alongside his running mate James Muchiri.

Speaking after presenting his documents to the Nairobi County Returning Officer Albert Gogo at Kasarani Sports Complex, Sakaja pledged to ensure that Nairobi residents receive quality services if they elected him as their fourth governor.

“Nairobi residents should avoid looking at tribe when voting. Let’s vote for leaders who have the interest of Nairobi at heart. Our march is unstoppable, our faith unshakeable and our victory is inevitable. We must make Nairobi work… We must restore our city back to its former glory by offering our people, order, dignity, hope, and opportunity for all," he said.

Sakaja will face off with the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition party candidate Polycarp Igathe, who was cleared on Saturday, and businesswoman Agnes Kagure who is running as an independent candidate.

This dude was very promising. Till he began to run for gov, went to UDA and showed himself to be not only a religious fanatic trying to build more churches but an idiot. Chief idiot. A buffoon. A Mafi ya kuku.
