TelPosta Pension Scheme Lists Flats, Bungalows and Plots from Ksh600,000

The TelPosta Pension Scheme is selling its real estate holdings, offering residential units and land to buyers through a competitive tender process.

The sale, detailed in a tender notice dated 12 March 2026, is in response to legal limits that restrict state corporations to property assets constituting no more than 30 per cent of their total portfolios. Properties available for purchase are located in Nairobi, Naivasha, Nyeri, Nanyuki, Isiolo and Kericho. Nairobi flats along Elgeyo Marakwet Road feature prominently, with two- and three-bedroom units priced from around Ksh14.4 million.

Bungalows in Naivasha, Karatina, Nyeri and Kericho are offered across a wide range, from under Ksh1 million to more than Ksh19 million depending on size and location. Vacant plots in Nyandarua and Kericho start at Ksh600,000.

The scheme’s property portfolio originates from 1999, when government assets were transferred to meet pension obligations for former employees of postal entities. The current disposal aims to comply with statutory asset limits while rebalancing the scheme’s financial position.

Bids will be invited under a national competitive process governed by procurement and disposal regulations, ensuring transparency and adherence to legal requirements. Interested buyers must submit sealed bids with a 10 percent deposit of the reserve price for each property.

Successful bidders are required to pay a further 20 per cent within 30 days and the remaining 70 percent within 90 days. Proof of financial capacity, tax compliance certificates and identification documents are mandatory. Site visits are scheduled between 30 March and 7 April, and the tender closes on 27 April at 10 am.
