Jubilee Will Impeach Raila if He Wins Repeat Election, President Uhuru Says
President Uhuru Kenyatta says that Jubilee Party has the numbers to impeach National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga even if he wins October 17th repeat presidential elections.
Speaking at State House, Nairobi while addressing a delegation of Ukambani leaders on Monday, the President said that his party has all the numbers in both National Assembly and Senate to remove Raila should he win next months contest.
Uhuru also dared the NASA legislators to boycott the 12th Parliament’s first sitting that he will address on Tuesday, saying that ruling party has enough numbers to conduct house business.
He also said that his party can also easily change the constitution since it has the majority of legislators in both houses of parliament.
"With our (Jubilee) numbers we can even change the constitution," Uhuru said.
”Even if he (Raila) is elected, we have the opportunity in Parliament. Two, three months tumemtoa. ” Uhuru added.
Ukambani leaders led by former Kitui Senator David Musila, Nairobi governor Mike Sonko and his Machakos counterpart Alfred Mutua pledged to marshal support for the President in Machakos, Kitui and Makueni counties.
