Raila Speaks on Why Former Meru Governor Peter Munya Abandoned Him

John Wanjohi Sep 13, 2017

Opposition chief Raila Odinga has revealed why Former Meru Governor, Peter Munya abandoned him barely a week after joining National Super Alliance.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate said that Munya re-joined Jubilee because ‘he was under a lot of pressure.’

"I had received a message from him telling me he was under a lot of pressure. He had no other choice.
"I understand and I have excused him," stated Odinga.

Raila further said that Munya's departure will not affect the votes he got from Meru, adding that he still got the votes without Munya.

"My support in Meru is still intact. I got a lot of votes when he (Munya) was in Jubilee. He has been campaigning for me until yesterday," he added.

Raila insisted that NASA will boycott the repeat presidential election as far as the faulty Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is in place.

“Issues that were raised at the Supreme Court have not been addressed by IEBC. The commission does not appreciate the magnitude of the problem that we have,” stressed Raila.

Raila was speaking in an interview on KTN news on Tuesday night.
