Find Yourselves Kalenjin Men, Laikipia Woman Rep. Catherine Waruguru Tells Nyeri Women

After advising young women not to be afraid of being second wives, Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru is at it again, this time advising Nyeri women to go for men from the Kalenjin community.

Waruguru accuses Nyeri men of ignoring the kind of beauty their ladies bear and now want them (Nyeri women) to set their eyes elsewhere. 

The politician, who is married to a Kalenjin man as a second wife, narrates how her beauty went unnoticed by men when she was living in Nyeri a few years ago. She said she was immediately spotted by her current husband when she relocated to Laikipia and now wants other women from Nyeri to follow suit.

 “When I was in Nyeri, none of the guys winked at me. But in Nanyuki, I met a Kalenjin guy who took me to Kericho,” Waruguru said. 

“We believe in a new Kenya where people love each other. Even single young girls here should look for a Kalenjin to get married to,” she added.

A few weeks ago, Waruguru and her husband were ejected from a hotel in Kericho after failing to produce a marriage certificate as the facility's rules require before checking in. She has always maintained that she is happy being in a polygamous marriage.
