I'm Keen to Create Jobs for Youths, Ruto Tells Diaspora

President William Ruto has assured Kenyans abroad that his government is determined to provide jobs for the youth.

At a gathering of Kenyans in Geneva, Switzerland, the head of state declared that he is also devoted to establishing a favourable atmosphere for Kenyans both in the homeland and overseas. He continued to emphasize that Kenya must stay up-to-date with global changes that have occurred in the nature of work. President Ruto outlined that this must be achieved while creating more openings from conventional sectors.

“We want to position our young people to take full advantage of the digital economy and online talent marketplace. We also see opportunities in agriculture and housing to generate significant employment opportunities,” Ruto said.

The President who was in Geneva for the International Labour Organization (ILO) summit was flanked by his delegation at the meeting which occurred on the sidelines of the summit. During his speech, Ruto praised trade unions, employers, and the Labour Ministry for upholding industrial harmony in the country.

Ruto encouraged African nations to speed up the implementation of Agenda 2063 and the sustainable development goals in order to reduce unemployment in the region and provide more opportunities for citizens. The Head of State was accompanied by the Labour Cabinet Secretary Florence Bore, Principal Secretary Geoffrey Kaituko, Kenya’s UN Geneva Ambassador Cleopas Mailu, COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli and Chief Executive of Federation of Kenya Employers Jacqueline Mugo.

Just the other day, the CS of foreign affairs said, they're sending youths abroad for jobs, the head od state is saying he's creating jobs for youths at home? I am confused.
