Passport, Birth Certificate, and ID Services Brought Closer to Kenyans Overseas

The Mobile Consular Services initiative continues to make significant strides in serving Kenyan citizens abroad, as evidenced by the recent successful operations in various locations.
Day two of the #HudumaMajuu campaign in Copenhagen, Denmark, saw a seamless provision of essential services such as birth certificates and passports for Kenyan nationals and their families. Dedicated teams from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade were on-site to ensure efficient delivery of these vital services, catering to the needs of those requiring documentation for travel back home. In Djibouti, the Mobile Consular Services kickstarted with Ambassador George MacGoye leading the charge, urging Kenyans to take advantage of the efficient and expedited services offered.
From ID replacements to passport applications and birth certificate issuance, the consular team catered to diverse needs, extending its reach to Kenyan nationals in Bloemfontein, with some travelling from as far as Lesotho to access services. In South Africa, the Mobile Consular Services team transcended distance and time to fulfil their mission of serving Kenyans of all age categories. From dawn until dusk, they remained motivated by the profound purpose of assisting their fellow citizens.
Young individuals seeking birth certificates and passports received prompt attention, while those attaining 18 applied for national ID cards, and others with previous IDs and passports sought renewals. The turnout was greatly appreciated, and amidst the services, Kenyans had the opportunity to reconnect with long-lost acquaintances, fostering a sense of community. The MCS team is set to be in Oslo, Norway from the 24th to the 26th of March 2024. Kenyans are advised to bring old passports and first and second-generation ID cards. Parents are advised to bring along children born to Kenyan parent(s) to obtain birth certificates, alongside a range of other essential services.
Meanwhile, at Stoke UK Diaspora Sacco Annual General Meeting, Mr Boniface Munzala, Director of Savings, Investments, and Remittances (SIR), represented the Diaspora Affairs PS Roseline Njogu. In his address, Director Munzala emphasized the synergy between the State Department's mandate of supporting Kenyans in the Diaspora with employment and enterprise opportunities and the Sacco's vision of empowering its members. He urged sacco members to explore investment avenues in burgeoning sectors such as information technology, financial technology, and manufacturing.
The collaboration between the Stoke UK Sacco and key government agencies including the State Department for Diaspora underscores a commitment to maximizing the potential and security of members' investments. As one of the few Diaspora Saccos regulated by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority(SASRA), the Sacco aims to ascend to tier-one status, reflecting its growth and dedication to serving Kenyan communities across Europe, America and Australia.

Always take such rash Kenya government services with a grain of salt. They resemble a shooting star that starts out with eye-catching luminance and fizzles out in seconds only to reappear at a random unpredictable time anywhere. Remember the pomp about the Huduma Number exercise?
