National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Wednesday named a 15-member campaign team that will spearhead his campaigns, nine weeks to the general elections.
Amani National Coalition leader Musalia Mudavadi will chair the team, deputized by Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, and Olga Karani, who ditched Deputy President Ruto's URP for ODM prior to the 2013 elections.
Lawyer Willis Otieno, who successfully represented NASA in the High Court case that ruled that constituency results in the presidential elections be final, has been unveiled as the chairperson of the presidential campaign secretariat.
“All departments of the NASA campaign will be headed by a professional. We are now ready for the elections, and our campaign team is well organized and ready. I am more than confident of our bid to clinch the 10 million votes from Kenyans in August 8,” said Odinga.
Senator Muthama and Karani will be in a 13-member steering committee that comprises of six ODM leaders, led by Siaya Senator James Orengo, Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho, Secretary General Agnes Zani, Junet Mohamed (Suna East MP), the treasurer Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba MP), and Kajiado Central MP Memusi Kanchori.
Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok will lead Turkana and West Pokot, while Joho will be in charge of the Coast.
Governor Evans Kidero with the help of Muthama will man Nairobi, with Ken Nganga and Jacob Nasonga (Bungoma and Trans Nzoia) and Ken Njiraini handling Busia, Vihiga and Kakamega.
