Rachael Shebesh's Husband Shoots Himself Twice on the Leg

Former Nairobi Women Representative Rachel Shebesh's husband is being treated at Nairobi Hospital after reportedly accidentally shooting himself on the leg twice.

52-year-old Franklin Ambundo Shebesh said that he fired himself on the left knee while servicing a Glock 17 pistol licensed to him at their home in Nairobi's Kilimani estate.

He was rushed to the Nairobi Hospital for treatment after which an official from the facility reported to police of a patient with a gunshot wound.

“Officers from the Kilimani Police Station rushed to the hospital as is the norm, and established that the patient was a civilian gun holder and that he had discharged one round of ammunition injuring himself,” police told the Nation.

“We want to establish whether it is possible for one to shoot himself twice, at what angle among other possibilities,” another officer said.

Police have confiscated the firearm, which had 12 bullets from Mr Ambundo as they launched probe into the incident.
