President Uhuru Instructs Cabinet Secretaries to Prepare Handover Notes

President Uhuru has reportedly instructed the 19 Cabinet Secretaries to prepare handover notes in preparation to the naming of a fresh team for his final term in office.

Citizen TV reports that the new directive is aimed at facilitating a smooth transition in various ministries in case of a major reshuffle.

Other reports indicate that President Uhuru and Deputy President Ruto will retreat to pick a fresh team in the coming days, with the President keen on leaving behind a legacy in his final term.

"It is a delicate balance. The changes must win political goodwill and must ensure a lot is achieved in the limited time in the President's last term," an insider at State House said.

Regional and ethnic diversity, gender balance, political loyalty and 2022 succession politics are some of the factors the President will be grappling with in picking his appointees.

Some of the the personalities who are rumored to be possible in Uhuru's cabinet include former Meru Governor Peter Munya, Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju , former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar , former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba and former Funyula MP Paul Otuoma .
