Kamba Mau Mau Elders Threaten to Curse Kalonzo over Swearing-in Plan

Mau Mau war veterans drawn from Machakos County have threatened to bestow curses upon Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former Senator Johnston Muthama over the planned swearing-in of Raila Odinga and Musyoka as the people's president and deputy people's president.

Speaking to the media, the elders warned the opposition against the plans, cautioning that it would plunge the country into violence and bloodshed.

“We fought for independence of this country and now you have misled the entire community, please do not provoke our anger. Compromise with the current government otherwise we will deal with you because this government came through our struggles, not yours, you were too young,” they said.

The chapter's chairman Rev. Johnstone Kiiti said that the country already has a government and anyone purporting to install themselves as president is doing so against the law.

“For those who claim that they will swear in NASA leader Raila Odinga, you are committing suicide, because we already have a government in place,” he warned while speaking in Mwala, Machakos County.

The elders told Kalonzo and Muthama to distance themselves from the plan and stop misleading the Kamba community, failure to which they will be cursed.

“We, the Mau Mau, have not been consulted in all this, go ahead at your own risk. Your families and relatives will be seeing a lot of punitive changes in their health. It is us who are cursing you, there is no Canaan you are going,” Kiiti said adding that the curse would have an effect on the health of their families as well.

“We have no other government apart from that of President Kenyatta and his DP Ruto. They are the only ones we recognise,” he added.
