President Uhuru Announces More Cabinet Nominees

President Kenyatta on Tuesday named more nominees to the Cabinet as he continues to gather a team to steer his agenda in his last term in office.

The President said he had appointed to the post of Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Eng. John Musonik (Mining), Hassan Noor Hassan (Sports) and Mohamed Ibrahim Elmi (Environment).

CASs are tasked to help Cabinet Secretaries in coordinating affairs in their respective ministries.

In a tweet, the president further announced he had submitted to the National Assembly names of five Principal Secretaries (PSs) for vetting and approval.

They include; Harry Kimutai (Livestock); Alfred Cheruiyot (Correctional Services); Prof Fred Sigor (Irrigation); Jerome Ochieng (ICT); Susan Komen (East African Community) and John M. Omenge (Mining).

Kenyatta also nominated Richard Titus Ekai, Eng. John Okuna Ogango and Wilfred Machage as ambassadors.

He also forwarded names of Justice Paul Kihara Kariuki, for Attorney General's position and Noordin Mohamed Haji as Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
