Kabogo Warns President Uhuru Against Turning His Back on Ruto

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has warned President Kenyatta against breaking his promise to support Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

Kabogo argues that Ruto was the man behind President Uhuru's victory in 2013 and 2017; hence he must rally behind him come 2022.

The politician has also poked holes at the historic March 9th, 2018 handshake between Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga.

Kabogo has questioned why Kenyatta and Odinga failed to incorporate other leaders like Ruto and Wiper chief Kalonzo Musyoka in the handshake.

"Where Raila gets into, things turn bad... if indeed this handshake was to bring peace, why did they not involve Ruto and Kalonzo Musyoka? We would now be enjoying peace," Kabogo says as quoted by The Star.

Kabogo has spoken during an interview with Emoo FM, a MediaMax-owned radio station broadcasting in Kalenjin language.

“I know where DP and the President started their political union. Uhuru and I drove to Ruto’s Karen home. We sat under a tree for three days negotiating a working relationship...Ruto helped Uhuru to win. Do you think we would have won without Ruto?" Poses Kabogo.

Sickening tribal politics....why on earth should Kenyans be bound by ethnic considerations that cast aside meritocracy for the highest office in the land? Why should we vote for Raila or Ruto? These two, plus Uhuru, are spent cartridges which are useless in getting us out of the morass we've put ourselves in & they should all be hounded out of Kenyan politics come 2022. It's high time each & every Kenyan soul-searched himself / herself regarding what it really means to be a responsible citizen and how this sense of responsibility can inspire all of us to think hard about 2022 for a better Kenya. Fellow citizens, we really need to rethink how we have been conducting ourselves politically at the ballot box up to now.

What Nonsense. Kenyans are dying in Turkana as you worship a career politician with a proven record of stealing and appointing thieves.

Here is my take for Kenyans. If Ruto becomes president come 2022 then you can take it to the Bank. The Kenyan economy will turn to Zimbabwe or even worse.

The whole excercise of 2013 and 2017 was to cleanse the ill gotten wealth of the Kenyatta's.
The whole excercise of 2022 is to cleanse the wealth of Ruto and his cartels.

If Kenyans can't think on their own. Africa will continue lagging behind all economic and human development indicators.

Chamelion how much did Ruto pay you to lie.Are you not the same person who blamed Ruto that he was behind your loss for governor when we know your people were tired of your arrogance and fired you the only way they could and that is through the ballot ama Ruto has promised you a post na sasa umeanza campaign.Come slow kenyans are not that forgetful 2022 bado haijafika na huyu unatarajia kuwa running mate wako labda hatakua hai .Siasa na tu kutukana bibi na mama za wenyewe tu .Start by apologizing for dumping a woman who refused your advances on the side of the road and days later she was found dead. All this is from the man who wants to run for president .Jiuzulu tafadhali

My take: The handshake was a ploy to Raila. Without the handshake, it would have been difficult for Uhuru to advance the 4 pillar agenda. Come 2022, Raila will be out-manipulated; Raila will get angry and he will jump ship grudgingly; and Uhuru will begin working with Ruto. Hesabu imefanywa.

Kenya is not for grabs. You can never sit under a tree in Karen and share the top leadership of our country as if it was owned by Uhuru and Ruto on the other side. Let everyone who is qualified vie for whatever seat s/he wants. People of Kiambu voted you out Mr. Kabogo. Has the county stopped working because you are out? Life continues whether Uhuru or Ruto are there. Let the best man/woman win. We are a democratic and not an autocratic government. Let the voters decide. Pocket the hongo you have received and go home. Stop putting Uhuru on notice.

DAIMA MKENYA & JOE KAMANDE.Are you telling us that Uhuru and Ruto elected themselves to be president and deputy? They each have one vote as you do. Those who erected them exercised their Wright to vote as per the constitution and they will do the same come 2022.
