Irish Man Dies While Trying to Climb Mount Kenya

A 40-year-old foreign national collapsed and died while trying to climb Mount Kenya on Thursday morning.

The Irish national is said to have developed breathing complications at one of the stopovers, Australian hut, according to the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS).

A KWS rescue team was dispatched to evacuate the mountain climber to Mackinder’s, from where he was airlifted to Nanyuki Cottage Hospital.

“The client who was in a critical condition was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital,” said KWS in a statement.

The deceased accessed the Mount Kenya National Park through Naromoru gate on January 25th at around 6 am.

In 2012, a 29-year-old man died while on an expedition to hike the country’s tallest mountain in the company of 26 other climbers from Nairobi. KWS said he complained of a headache, chest pains, and difficulty in breathing.

At about 5,199 meters, Mount Kenya is Africa’s second-highest mountain after Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters).

Mt Kenya will fight for itself.
Was he trying to plant another fake flag on it? Alphabetical flag? We will never know!
