Kitengela Four: Body of Elijah Obuong Exhumed at Night, Police Searching for 7 Suspects

Police officers in Kisumu are pursuing seven suspects believed to have exhumed the body of Elijah Obuong, one of the four friends who went missing in Kitengela in April.
The body of Obuong was buried in Holo, Muhoroni on May 13th after it was found dumped in River Mukunga in Murang’a more than a week after he disappeared alongside his friends Benjamin Imbai, Brian Oduor, and Jack Ochieng.
The remains were reportedly exhumed from the grave on Wednesday night by unknown men and ferried to an undisclosed location.
His mother Caroline Obuong is suspected to have teamed up with six others to exhume the body that had been interred at his uncle’s compound.
“A group of seven people suspected to be from Uyoma, Siaya county came in hearse reg: number not known and invaded the home of Daniel Obudi Ogago of mobile no 0715606869, a resident of Holo village, West Songhor sub-location, and illegally exhumed the body of Elijah Obuong, a nephew to Daniel Obudi,” part of the OB from Koru police station reads.
The suspects are said to have wrapped the decomposing body in a polythene bag, reburied the empty coffin, and drove off to an unknown destination.
“Our officers from Koru Police station are dealing with this matter that is still under investigation,” Kisumu County Police Commander Samwel Anampiu said while confirming the incident.
A family source told a local daily that the exhumation of Obuong’s body may have been due to differences in the place of burial.
“His aunt felt she owed Obuong’ a decent send-off because she brought him up from childhood to adulthood,” the source.
Obuong and his friends were last seen alive at Club Enkare in Kitengela on April 19th. Obuong and Imbai were found dead while the whereabouts of the other two remain unknown.

Mkenya say something about Gitau the US policeman from Kibingoti,KIRINYAGA who killed his mother two days ago.I heard the villagers cornered and torched him alive after he came back home to kill his brother. It sounds like he had bribed the Haven police who had not arrested him because there was no complaint. How was the dead person expected to report the killing incident to the Haven police?
