Family in Agony as Abductors Demand Sh5 Million Ransom for Kidnapped Businesswoman

The family of a 23-year-old businesswoman who was allegedly kidnapped on Tuesday is seeking police help to rescue her.
Hafsa Mohammed Lukman, a resident of Nairobi’s California estate, was last seen at her shoe shop in Kamukunji Trading Centre on Tuesday evening.
Her brother-in-law Omar Ibrahim said the abductors contacted the family demanding a Sh5 million ransom to free her.
“Her abductors last texted us on Wednesday at 11:30 pm saying they needed the ransom. We are worried they might harm her,” Omar told The Standard.
CCTV footage obtained from Hafsa’s store showed her entering the shop at 4:44 pm in the company of a woman, who has since been identified as Hafsa Abdulwahab. The two left the shop almost immediately.
It emerged that Abdulwahab, who sells watermelon in bulk at Kayole estate, is also missing.
On Wednesday, the abductors sent a 35-second video to Hafsa’s family showing her blindfolded with her hands and legs tied.
“Nimeshikwa na wanataka pesa, tafadhali mtume pesa (I have been kidnapped, and they’re demanding ransom. Please, send it),” Hafsa pleads in the video.
