New Poll Puts Raila Ahead of Ruto in Presidential Race

Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga would defeat his main competitor Deputy President William Ruto if elections were held today, according to a new poll by Infotrak Research.

The poll released on Wednesday shows that Odinga, 77, would garner 9.3 million votes, representing 42 percent of the total votes cast while Ruto would marshal approximately 8.4 million votes (38 percent). This means the two candidates would battle in a run-off election to decide the winner since none of them would meet the constitutional requirement of 50 percent plus a single vote in the first round.

Infotrak CEO Angela Ambitho said 9,000 respondents from across all the 290 constituencies in 47 counties were interviewed during the survey conducted between May 23nd and 27th. The survey's margin of error was plus or minus one.

"What we see in this research is that the naming of the running mates had a great impact on the popularity of the candidates in some regions," said Ambitho.

Odinga, who is giving his fifth try at the presidency, leads in 20 counties while Ruto is more popular in 16. Ruto is running for the presidency on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket.

Ambitho said 11 battleground counties in Coast, Rift Valley, Northern and Western Kenya will decide who will be Kenya's fifth president. They include Tana River, Kwale, Lamu, Turkana, Narok, Kajiado, Samburu, Nakuru, West Pokot, Bungoma, and Trans Nzoia.

In regards to gender voting patterns, Odinga slightly leads in the female vote with 38 percent while Ruto has 37 percent of the female vote.

It is obvious the media is paid to be biased again Ruto. You can tell by this picture of Raila smilling. The election was decided at handshake and no matter what Raila will be sworn as the next Kenya's President. The biggest losers in the next election is Kenyan themselves because they are being robbed their rights by the system that is supposed to procted them

Raila always smiles. He is a people’s easy going type of a man. He is trustworthy. He will be the next president of kenya. The 5th president.

On the other hand, Ruto is gnawed by a lot of criminal sinister things he has done in the past. Ruto can not be trusted. His doomed face speaks of a man who is ready to do a lot of harm to Kenyans if he I elected president.

Infotrak Research released same polls in 2013 and 2017 and they were way off the mark. Hope they have improved in their research methods, though they failed to include margin of error. They need a lot of improvement in their polling. Also, every polling results should include a disclaimer on any association with the candidates and parties.

Stop whining. RAO is way ahead of Ruto. Raila will beat Ruto hands down. Kenyans do not want to vote for a boy who is a thief.

Kikuyus must remember the Ruto Kiambaa massacre of 2007 where Ruto killed our women and children by burning them. Ruto is worse than Hitler of Germany.

Baba will be the 5th president of the Republic of Kenya.

Kenyans have realized WSR have nothing important to offer them except a hogwash hype. Let’s all vote for RAO in large numbers to avoid any repeat. He is the right president of the Republic of Kenya. Yes baba the 5th!!..

Uhuru said before this race is marathon but Ruto never listen. I know many may not agree with me but when it comes politics Uhuru plays good.

Very very nice to see Raila making progress. We can’t let UDAku thieves be in charge of kenya. They will finish kenya with theft and corruption. Some body tell Ruto not to steal the government furniture in the DP house in Karen on the way out.

Get out and vote wisely fellow Kenyans. RAO is the man to take kenya to the net level.

And in whose hands are you safe after 9 August 2022? In RAO’s hands you are very safe!!!

Ruto looks very evil! He is a full of bitterness, range, and a heavy desire to revenge on any small matter.

Ruto will steal more of the land belonging to poor Kenyans. Corruption will be pushed to uncontrollable heights by Ruto’s UDAku thieves.

Ruto is all about himself and the rest of us will have to fend for ourselves while Ruto and UDAku steal everything kenya owns.

We can take a chance with a man hell bent to destroy our country with shedding more blood of innocent Kenyans. Ruto will kill more Kenyans than he killed in Kiambaa in 2007.

Kenyans can’t afford to vote for Ruto! He will set the country on fire and make it far worse than Somalia.

Kenyans must vote to end corruption in our country if at all they want to continue developing kenya. Raila and Karua will kill the agents of corruption, theft and dirty cartels of money laundering.

Ruto is the head of money laundering cartels in kenya. His close relationship with Nigerian mafia is very dangerous for kenya. Ruto is the most corrupt man in Africa.

Kenya needs a somber hand of Raila to keep the country safe from pilferage and theft. Ruto will steal everything kenya owns.
