DCI Seeks Public's Help to Capture Al-Shabaab Terror Suspects Linked to Attacks in Kenya

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has appealed to members of the public to volunteer any information that may lead to the arrest of four terror suspects.

The suspects were identified as Abdullahi Banati, Maalim Ayman, Ramadhan Kioko, and Abdikadir Mohamed Abdikadir.

In a statement released on Friday, the DCI said the suspects are linked to the Somalia-based Al-Shabaab terror network.

They are believed to be responsible for recent attacks in Lamu County and have been described as “trained, armed, and dangerous.”

“Members of the public are asked to provide information that may lead to their arrest through our #FichuakwaDCI HOTLINE number 0800 722 203,” the DCI stated.

The agency assured the public that all information provided will be kept confidential and that callers will remain anonymous.

This comes a day after the United States government offered a reward of up to $10 million (Sh1.2 billion) to anyone who will provide information leading to the arrest of Mohamoud Abdi Aden, the mastermind of the January 2019 DusitD2 terror attack in Nairobi.

US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman announced the bounty during a joint media address with the Director DCI Mohamed Amin on Thursday.

Abdi, alias Mohamoud Abdirahman, was part of the cell that planned the DusitD2 Hotel attack, which claimed the lives of 21 people including a US national.
