Kindiki Wraps Up Ukambani Visit, Calls for Regional Unity and Economic Growth

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has concluded a week-long tour of Ukambani, culminating in an address to residents in Mwala, Machakos County, where he reiterated the government's commitment to equitable development across the region.

The outreach precedes a planned visit by President William Ruto, signaling a concerted effort to solidify support and ensure the smooth implementation of government initiatives. Kindiki's engagements spanned multiple constituencies, including Machakos Town, Masinga, Kaiti, Kangundo, Kitui East, Kitui South, Kilome, and Kitui Central.

He emphasized the administration's focus on inclusive economic growth through community empowerment programs, urging local leaders to prioritize national progress over divisive politics. A key aspect of Kindiki's message is a call for regional unity among Ukambani leaders. He announced plans to engage former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka in discussions aimed at advancing the region's development agenda.

He said that the administration's development trajectory should be driven by a collective effort to enhance livelihoods, irrespective of political affiliation. Kindiki highlighted several key projects already underway, including the construction of the Mwala-Kangundo Road, expansion of water infrastructure, and the allocation of affordable housing units in Masii town. Further investment in skills development was also emphasized, with pledged support for technical training institutes in the region.

The Deputy President reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Ruto's Bottom-Up Economic Development Agenda, aiming to bolster economic opportunities at the grassroots level through government-funded infrastructure and social programs.
