ELOG Parallel Presidential Results Show President Uhuru Beat Raila

Kenyan Election Observation Group (ELOG) says that presidential results from their parallel tallying centre are in tandem with ones announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

In a statement on Saturday, the organization said that they conducted a survey in 1,692 polling stations of the over 40,000 Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) gazetted stations, with tabulation matching that of the electoral agency.

Elog further added that results on forms 34A agreed with what their agents tabled from the sampled polling stations.

Elog's parallel tallying tabulation indicated President Uhuru Kenyatta won by 54 per cent to National Super Alliance (Nasa) flag bearer Raila Odinga's 44.9 per cent votes, with the result having a margin error of 1.9 per cent.

IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati on Friday declared President Kenyatta the winner after garnering 54.3 per cent votes while Odinga had 44.7 per cent.

ELOG commended the voting process apart from a few isolated cases of electronic kits failing to function properly.

The organization deployed 1,700 parallel voter tabulation monitors at chosen polling stations across the 290 constituencies to record the vote counting in real time and transmit the results to its own tallying centre.
