Martha Karua Refuses to Concede Defeat to Anne Waiguru

Narc Kenya Kirinyaga gubernatorial candidate Martha Karua has declined to concede defeat to Kirinyaga governor-elect Anne Waiguru.

Karua dismissed the results that declared the Jubilee candidate the winner of the coveted seat and vowed to challenge the results in court.

In a statement, the former Gichugu Member of Parliament Karua said that she was dissatisfied with the way tallying of votes was conducted, saying that the results were not a reflection of how Kirinyaga residents voted.

"We disputed the counting and tallying and demanded a recount while the process was on going which IEBC denied." The statement read in part.

The former Justice and Constitutional affairs minister thanked her supporters and made it clear that she was going to “seek legal action”.

"We wish to sincerely thank the people of Kirinyaga for exercising their democratic right to choice and the significant number of voters who believed in us and our vision for a new Kirinyaga. Hon. Gitari and I are grateful for your immense support,".

"As such we are exploring legal options to open the process to scrutiny in line with an open and transparent process a fundamental requisite to free, fair and credible elections." She added.

Former devolution cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru garnered 159,606 votes (54.09%) to Karua’s 120,341 votes (40.78%) to be declared the winner of the contest.

I am also surprised that a thief outwitted a seasoned politician. Kwani these Kirinyaga voters are how stupid to think that a woman who stole before will not steal again. The county is finished.

The voting was rigged by computer hacking to show 54%/44%.waiguru is an expert in computer manipulation. Karua was the real winner.
