Police Arrest Kenyan Husband of Slain Australian Teacher Gabrielle Maina
Police in Nairobi have arrested Cyrus Maina, the husband to slain Australian teacher Gabrielle Maina.
Gabrielle, who was the Headmistress of Hillcrest Preparatory School in Nairobi was shot dead last week by robbers who fled on a motorbike as she returned home after taking her son at a friend’s house.
Mr Maina was taken in at Karen Police Station on Monday, where he had gone to follow up on the probe into his wife's Thursday murder.
Karen OCPD Cunningham Suiyanka confirmed Maina was in custody at Karen police cells, where he spent his night, but declined to give more details regarding his arrest.
Hours before his arrest, Mr Maina had spent time at Lee Funeral Home, where he oversaw the post-mortem test of his late wife.
The autopsy was carried out by Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor and showed that the bullet hit her lung, causing it to collapse. “The single shot punctured her lung and caused a lot of internal bleeding. Both her lungs collapsed,” Dr Oduor said at the Lee Funeral Home.
Her killers took her phone and purse before they left. Her body will be cremated on Wednesday at the Nairobi's Lang’ata Crematorium.
The couple had two sons.
Last week, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull sent his condolence message to the family of the teacher.
“It’s a tragic event and our prayers and love and condolences go out to her family and loved ones,” Malcolm Turnbull told 3AW radio on Friday. “She appears to have been killed by a fatal gunshot wound during a robbery.”

Mr Kenya with all respect why was Musando's wife not questioned. she said she did not report him missing cause there are several nights he doesn't sleep at home . He was murdered with his mistress reliable sources say he was with her for 1 and half years . As we stand today no one is pushing for investigation. Whether Police is involved or not they will not care not for Musando reason the family and those close to him must insist so that they can find closure if ever

I hope and wish that Ndugu maina is not responsible for the death of his wife. His two sons will not forget or forgive him. In Kenya, killings have just become normal and similar to killing a mosquito.

@Njai, I do not know where you live but crime is all over the world. Go to any inner city in USA and you will be amazed of the crime rate eg Chicago, Detroit, LA, Philly, DC etc. Sex offenders are all over wakati wa halloween children are warned about going to sex offender houses. It seems you do not read the news or watch TV. USA has more criminals in prisons than any other country in the world

@Njai, what kind of ignorance is this? Crime are committed by people of all races. Inner cities crimes are mostly committed by African American & Latinos, Mass shooting like the one in Las Vegas are committed mostly by white males, Molestation of boys in Catholic Church were done by white priests. Go to sex offender registry and you will get to know all the sex offenders & child molesters in your neighborhood. Do not think there is not sex offenders in your neighborhood

First of the all spouses are always suspect in investigation. The husband was arrested despite having witnesses to his whereabout at the time of the killing. The police are obviously under scrutiny from foreign government to catch whoever did it so they are grasping at straws at anyone or anything that would stick for results.
So if you were unable to deduce some of the info, you are definitely a fox news subscriber who takes info at face value with a pinch of racial or tribal bias.
