President Uhuru Didn't Threaten Us, Supreme Court Judges Say

Kenya Supreme Court judges have refuted claims that President Kenyatta intimidated them after they annulled the August 8th presidential election.

While reading the detailed judgment explaining why they unanimously upheld President Kenyatta's victory in the October 26th repeat poll, the judges denied that they were threatened to deliver the verdict to the Head of State's favour.

"We were not intimidated by the choice of words used by President Kenyatta against us," Justice Smokin Wanjala said.

On whether Jubilee Women's Brigade, which clad in military gear during Kenyatta's campaigns committed any electoral offences, Wanjala said: "Petitioners didn't have proof that Jubilee Women's Brigade act of dressing in military regalia intimidated voters."

He further ruled that the court did not find president Uhuru culpable of using public resources to drum support for his re-election.

"On 19th Oct, The High Court gave a clear determination and forbade the government from advertising using public resources, petitioners didn't prove that Kenyatta was in contempt," he stated.
