We Recognize Kenyatta as President, Luo Elders Declare

A section of elders from the Luo community say they recognize Kenyatta as the president of Kenya, and have asked him to lead all communities as symbol of unity in the country.

Addressing the press at Kendu Bay, the elders, led by their chairman Nyandiko Ongadi called on the head of state to consider the community while sharing out positions.

Other elders present at the presser included Peter Mbogo from Migori; Phoebe Akinyi from Siaya; and Joram Okola from Homa Bay.

“Kenyatta is the president of everybody in Kenya. I call on him to consider the Luo, like other communities, in jobs and national resources distribution,” said Nyandiko.

They also urged the community to stop branding anyone appointed by President Kenyatta, as traitors.

“Anybody appointed for a state job from this community should take that opportunity to develop Kenyans. We don’t want to hear anybody being referred to as a traitor,” reiterated Joram Okola.

Kudos that they have the guts to speak out the truth. Many people know what the truth is but they are cowards they cannot speak out

Thanks for this comment. But I want to ask this question to Raila kinsman. How can you hide under the covers of democracy? Can you please tell Kenyans which part of Luo Nyanza that Multi Party democracy worked? Take my advice for free, together as a Nation that embrace democratic principles will succeed. I know and thank GOD because you are just a few of you who think that way. Remember that, we are all in this one Country and we must ensure peace prevails at all costs.
