A video of a woman being raped in Nairobi's central business district in broad daylight and in presence of pedestrians has gone viral on the social media, sparking outrage among Kenyan online users.
The undated video shows an unidentified lady being sexually harassed by a man and she can be heard calling for help from passersby. It is believed that the footage was recorded along the infamous River Road in Nairobi.
"Don’t kill me please and please warn that person to stop recording. He might cause me to be killed,” cried the woman, who had already been out muscled.
Nairobi Directorate of Criminal Investigations Nicholas Kamwende has vowed to take action on the man and asked the woman in the video to report the incident with the police.
“What happened to the woman was wrong and we are urging her, wherever she is, to come to my office and record a statement so that she can help us in getting the men behind it," Kamwende said.
He said a team of detectives has been dispatched to pursue the perpetrators of the crime.
“Sad and sucks, someone has even audacity to video instead of helping this poor lady? Unbelievable . Wake up people!’ Wanjiki Mbugua said.Henry Masinde noted “O my, so sorry for the woman, and people cheering the act, God forbid, let full force of the law take its action.”
Tanya Mohammed said:”I hope the disgusting low life who did this and the one who filmed are caught. I can't believe that this is such a culture of people who stand by and watch crimes like this take place and do absolutely nothing! How disgusting and inhuman!”

I agree....
The sad part is that there were adults around watching.
Wh@... i can't bliv that. I haven't seen the video but thats real bad nobody helped her.
The Kenyan Government must do everything possible to arrest that man who committed that crime and possibly hung him and those who were cheering put them behind bars for several years to be a lesson to others.
Keep your paper sprays handy ladies.
I dont read enough outrage here on Mwakilishi. I hope elsewhere is different.
These rapists have asuch a disregard for law that they would commit such a heinous crime in the broad day light. Not that It would be any less at night, but with all these witnesses looking...To make it worse some were cheering. What is our society getting to? We complain about corruption, that can sometimes be hard to prove, and yet we let this crime of rape happen with some cheering.Shame, and shame on those who could not lend a helping hand. Imagine if it were one of your loved ones-your mother,or sister...girlfriend.
Now I understand why some Muslim societies stone "animals" like these rapists. My solution would be to castrate them, preferably in public.
Human rights groups are the ones who protect these devilish street boys from punishment.Only the bullet will protect us from these demons who always carry their poop/mafi as a weapon to whoever dares them.Even arresting them ni bure kabisa. The painted Central Police Station with human waste a year ago when one of them was locked there for mugging.DO NOT ARREST THAT RAPIST.SHOOT HIM.
It's disgusting and sad someone calling for help and yet the people ignore her plea they should have put a lot of thought that the victim can be my mother, daughter, aunt etc if people cannot take action when a crime is been done then the level of crime will be high since the criminal know that there's no one to stop him/them.I applaud police for there good work in arresting the suspected proprietors and now its turn for victim to show up and record statement with police so that justice can take place if not then these criminals will be loose free and will continue doing same atrocities
The guy who did this and the one filming should be shot to death, no courts or bail. find them and kill them
