Results of the US Green Card Lottery (Diversity Visa 2019) to Be Available Online Starting May 15th

Entrants who submitted applications for the Diversity Visa for the fiscal year 2019 (DV-2019, also known as the Green Card lottery) in October-November, 2017 can check if they are winners of the lottery starting Tuesday, May 15, 2018.

Applicants will need to enter their confirmation number, last and first name, and year of birth at the Department of State website when the ‘DV Entrant Status Check’ portal opens on May 15th. The portal is available at https://dvlottery.state.gov/

Administrated by the Department of State, the lottery program makes 55,000 permanent resident visas (green cards) available to national of countries with historically low number of immigrants in the United States.

Kenya is one of the country whose citizens qualify to participate in the visa lottery program.

Winners of the DV-2019 lottery program will be eligible to migrate to the United States starting in January, 2019 after passing through mandatory interviews at the US embassies in their home countries.

The Trump administration has mulled eliminating the lottery program.

Hi .thank you for the update.I was wondering if you could help me with any bits of information regarding how to retrieve my confirmation number cos I have lost mine but I have successfully completed the registration process at the time . Is there any chance I could retrieve it?please tell me

@Denno, that is false information. Abdul, you can still check your status when the results are released. You will just need the e-mail address you made the entry with, your date of birth and full name. The page will automatically retrieve your confirmation number after clicking on 'forgot confirmation number' and entering those details.

Have been trying to entire the confirmation number but am told it's invalid ,I should recheck if I entered the correct information. It happened to me last year ,then this year.Am confused. Please help
