President Uhuru Warns Leaders Against Politicizing War on Corruption

President Kenyatta has once again cautioned leaders against politicizing the war on corruption.

Speaking during the launch of Kenya’s 2nd Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Country Review Report at State House, Nairobi on Friday, Kenyatta says politician must allow investigating agencies to do their work.

“It is not me …corruption has been identified as a stumbling block..again there is no politics there..let us allow the agencies to do their work… let us not turn this to community fights, into individual fights,” says Kenyatta.

While reiterating his commitment to fighting the vice, President Uhuru says the war on graft is not targeted at specific individuals.

“You will hear that so and so is being targeted.. .we must deal with corruption and the fact is that whether we want to accept it or not it exists.. why don’t we fix it instead of politicking,” he notes.

“We can compete in a civilized manner, recognizing that after competition nobody is leaving Kenya.. .when we say we are reaching out, how do you expect me to say I am governing if I don’t reach out to people?” Kenyatta poses.

Deputy President William Ruto and leaders allied to him recently claimed they were unfairly been targeted in the war on graft.

They accused the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) of being used to settle political differences.

“We will refuse and reject any attempt by people to put together a political narrative using corruption and propaganda to drive a scheme to undermine Government programmes and projects, with the aim of destroying the Big Four agenda,” said Ruto.

There is no war on corruption. No one is politicizing the war on corruption as the war on corruption is 100% politics. You are surrounded by documented thieves yet you claim to have a war on corruption!
"nobody is leaving Kenya" what nonsense is this no one has to leave Kenya all they have to do is send the money out. How can the head of KRA own a company domiciled in Malaysia? Only in a shit head would allow the chief tax collector to avoid taxes by registering their company in a tax haven. Bure kabisa

HOW COME YOUR VP RUTO HAS NOT RECORDED STATEMENT ABOUT 7 BILLION WERE THE ONLY FUNDS UNCOUNTABLE BUT NOT 21 BILLION?
This tells us the WAR OF CORRUPTION is a joke in Kenya.

If corruption was severe weather; it already has gone through "watch, advisory and warning"; by now govt should have upgraded it to "emergency" and not fixated on "warnings". Unfortunately corruption is a severe human-induced climate change that requires systematic and coordinated measures to reverse it.
If corruption was a disease; it already has gone through "outbreak" and "epidemic" it is a now at "pandemic" levels and threatens to be "endemic" in Kenyan society.
Unfortunately corruption is not only a disease but a disorder which require all levels of intervention and treatment-not warnings.

It is obvious that our president Uhuru Kenyatta has a problem. The President sound scary in his speeches and I think the guilt are afraid. What’s your his stand on corruption surely? The back stops with him and the thieves are right in his government then why is he afraid to point them out by names and tell them to step a side .Uhuru sounds like my my little son because whenever my son makes a mistake in the home he hides in one of the rooms. Come on be a man enough and just mention the thieves
