The position fell vacant in August last year following the expiry of Edward Ouko’s eight-year term. If the National Assembly approves her nomination, Kabui will serve for an eight-year nonrenewable term.
Kabui had been shortlisted for the position alongside 10 0thers including Leonard Lari, Edwin Kipkoech, Benson Ochieng, Silvester Ngei, and Elizabeth Wangui. Others are Idris Abdi, Meshack Obiero, Paul Wangila, and Denis Theuri.
A total of 64 applicants had expressed interest in the coveted position.
Prior to her nomination, Kabui served as the Director of Audit in the Office of the Auditor-General.
