Notorious Drug Trafficker Tom Ouma Aero Arrested from His Hideout in Nairobi

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have captured a notorious Nairobi-based drug trafficker who has been operating with impunity.

Tom Ouma Aero was arrested on Saturday from his hideout in Utawala by a joint team of officers from DCI’s Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU), Special Services Unit (SSU), and Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU).

His arrest is linked to the seizure of 368.5 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa estimated to be worth Sh11 million.

The drugs were seized from a vehicle with registration number KCQ 741V that was intercepted along Nakuru-Nairobi Highway on August 14th.

The suspect is also believed to sponsor gangs in Nairobi’s Korogocho, Huruma, and Dandora estates to protect his drug trafficking business.

Aero was arrested together with two of his associates identified as Paul Ochieng Otieno and Stephen Wandera Barasa.

The three suspects are in the custody of police awaiting arraignment in court on Monday to answer to drug trafficking charges.
