Kenya Airways Signs Partnership Deal with Congo Airways

Kenya Airways (KQ) and Congo Airways have signed a two-year partnership agreement in areas of mutual interest.
The signing of the agreement was witnessed by President Kenyatta and his Congolese counterpart Felix Tshisekedi in Kinshasa on Thursday.
The deal will see the two national airlines partner in areas of mutual interest, including aircraft maintenance, training, and sharing of excess capacity.
“Also included in the two-year agreement, whose overarching objective is viability and sustainability of the airlines, is a route and code sharing provision aimed at expanding the carriers' domestic, African and international networks,” State House said in a statement.
The agreement was signed by KQ Group CEO Allan Kilavuka and his Congo Airways counterpart Desire Balazire Bantu.
Also present during the signing of the deal were Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo, her Devolution counterpart Eugene Wamalwa and Kenya’s Ambassador to DRC George Masafu.
President Kenyatta is on a three-day official State visit to the Central African nation on the invitation of Tshisekedi.
Ambassador Masafu said the visit is aimed at cementing the excellent bilateral ties between Kenya and the DRC through enhanced trade and people-to-people interactions.

This guzzler of stakeholders money should be left to die. Why keep resuscitating an ever-failing airline? Is someone enjoying the loot over and over without a care for those invested in the company? Makes no sense!
