Uhuru and Raila to Take Maiden Train Trip to Kisumu on Revamped Railway

President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga are scheduled to launch the revamped Naivasha-Kisumu meter-gauge railway next week.

The two will take their maiden train trip from Naivasha to Kisumu, where they will open the new railway terminus upon arrival.

The Kisumu railway station is among the many government projects Kenyatta will unveil in his five-day tour of the lakeside city.

Nation reports that the president will also launch the Kisumu Port, the Sh350 million Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, the Lake Basin Development Authority Mall, a ship at the dry dock, the marine school, and the Uhuru Business Park that will accommodate more than 10,000 traders.

On May 28th, Kenyatta will head to Homa Bay County to officially open the Mbita Causeway before returning to Kisumu for Madaraka Day celebrations, which will be held at the new stadium.

This week, a team from the national celebrations committee led by Interior PS Karanja Kibicho toured the stadium to assess its status ahead of Madaraka Day celebrations on June 1st.

Only 3,000 people will be allowed inside the arena during the event due to COVID-19 guidelines.

Are these economical viable projects?

Kenya media don’t seem interested in asking the right question.

Majority of Uhuru Kenyatta projects are PR stunts. Unsustainable.

Kenyans are lucky to have 2 presidents.
Dynasties working together to solidify their power.
Masters of deception, corruption and murders.
We need to clean this house.

People of Kisumu you do not have to be bribed with new stadiums and a dry dock sounds really high tech whatever that is.You can still contest for the presidency without BBI .Kenya is for over 40 tribes excluding new comers like Indians and Chinese .The current constitution “imetosha” any changes should be made after elections.Have faith in yourselves Kenya does not belong to two tribes only.
