Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris Loses Her Father

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris is mourning the death of her father, who passed away on Friday aged 79.

Passaris penned a moving tribute to her dad on Facebook, saying “a part of me has died today.”

“A part of me has died today. The heavens opened and ended my father’s suffering,” Passaris wrote.

The first-time member of parliament noted that her father, who was a naval architect by profession, achieved a lot in his lifetime.

“From building the first ship in Kenya–the ‘MV Mwewe’ that sailed across the East African coast–to coaching and mentoring the young men of Ngome Football Club in Mombasa,” she said.

Passaris disclosed that the deceased also worked for Southern Engineering Company Limited, COMARCO, before incorporating HELMACO, which he led until retirement.

“Looking back, none of his achievements compare to the family man that he was; a loving husband to my mother, an incredible dad to his five children and a doting Papou (grandfather) to his 9 grandchildren. God was his anchor; gratitude his motto, protection over his family, and country his prayer. Though heartbroken, it is well with my soul,” she added.

@Xian Wang,
As for Esther, may you have peace and be comforted for your loss.
For most of us when we see these faces, we see our forefathers being raped, maimed, killed and all manner of torture. We are reminded of our land and resources being stolen. Our names,languages being taken and our Shrines being destroyed.
This pain flows in our system and reacts at the sight of the perpetrators of those crimes.
This is not something you can see or feel. It is historical,perpetual, spiritual and beyond your comprehension.
