Kalonzo Tells President Ruto to Drop Cabinet Nominees with Integrity Questions to Avoid 'International Shame'

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has faulted President Ruto for nominating individuals with questionable integrity to his Cabinet.

Musyoka says a number of Ruto’s 22 Cabinet nominees have pending criminal cases in court, and urged the president to rescind their nominations to avoid what he termed as “national and international shame.”

"The selection of the Cabinet Secretaries, some of whom have amazingly active criminal cases, is questionable.  What are you asking our parliamentarians to do? If I was William Ruto, I would withdraw some of these completely to avoid national shame and even international shame," Musyoka said on Friday.

He vowed to ensure that MPs affiliated with the Wiper party and the Azimio coalition raise the nominees’ integrity shortcomings during their vetting by the National Assembly.

"These (nominations) were not procedurally done and we shall direct our MPs to withhold approval of those who do not meet Chapter Six threshold of the constitution," Musyoka added.

Similarly, Musyoka questioned the source of the Sh3.5 billion fertilizer subsidy introduced by President Ruto days after his inauguration on September 13th. The president directed that 1.4 million bags of fertilizer be availed to farmers at a subsidized price of Sh3,500 per 50Kg bag down from Sh6,500.

"Now we also question how this fertilizer was procured, when it was procured and where it was sourced from. Does it even meet the KEBS standard? This administration, therefore, should make public the procurement process of this fertilizer subsidy. We have directed our MPs to commence an inquiry into the same," Musyoka added.

Kalonzo is positioning himself as the dominant force in opposition.
Where was he when Uhuru and goons were raping the Kenyan coffers?
Where was he when folks disappeared without trace?
He is trying to reinvent himself as the good guy.
But, it's too late.
I still believe in Raila as the dominant force in politics, but he got disillusioned after the handshake.
All the folks in diaspora who left Kenya because of political persecutions are yet to return home.
Kalonzo plays both ways. He can be gay or straight depending on situations.

It’s commonsense the Government of Kenya & Kenyans will look like idiots if that cabinet is approved.

But William Ruto doesn’t care.

Kenya is officially the country being ran by criminals.

Wa Jinga hao.

Coward Kamelon should just shut the fack up. It’s up! The president appoints, it’s up to the legislature to vet and approve or reject! The president doesn’t have to be right 💯 percent all the time! Everyone should do their damn job and stop finger pointing!

Talk is indeed cheap. Both sides have characters with questionable integrity, and ethical standards. We keep saying that our leaders should pass integrity and ethical tests, and yet we keep electing those that fail that test.
The time to stop these these thieves,is before they put their names on the ballot.

And who will stop them?? No one has the will to do it! And the cycle continues. Fck Kenya. Let it be eaten to the core for all I care. Our own Gema maggots and a few western watchmen have fckd up the country. Let it be looted to the ground for a hard lesson we can learn. Thats how much to stop the corrupt. Once they loot it bare then comes revolution as everyone will be left with nothing to eat and fingure pointing to the fat cats begins and will be left with no option but taking the law to their own hands aka mob justice!!

@ Kora kanini, unfortunately you may be right. Looks like things will only change when they reach at a "critical mass". The other day it was revealed that Mpigs from the lake region had looted over Sh 400,000,000 in 12 days. All these has been met with deafening silence.Go figure.
The president, and his right hand man have been embroiled in corruption cases over quite sometime. As the good book of which Ruto is known to read says,"one must first remove the pank before going to remove the speck".Just the two big men alone have alot of planks to move.

@Comrade Kora kanini, as to the question,"And who will stop them?" The answer is the voters. And as to why they are not, that's the 100 million shillings question.Could it be that they enjoy the "oppression" and looting visited upon them by our leaders? I think not. Then what? Questions with no answers are endless.

Kalonzo is a Senior Counsel (SC), and should understand the concept of "innocent until proven guilty in a court of law". He should be asking the courts to expedite corruption and murder cases. In general, the courts should accept that justice delayed is justice denied. But rogue justice has no place in Kenya.

Chapter 6 of the Kenyan Constitutions should be reinforced before the election in order to avoid electing hooligans, thieves, con artists, rapists, murderers as leaders of our country.
