DCI Director Orders a Thorough Probe into Detective Boniface Muganda's Death

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) director Amin Mohamed has ordered a probe into the death of detective Boniface Muganda.
Muganda was killed in a hit-and-run accident along the Northern Bypass at the Marurui area in Nairobi on Saturday night, according to reports. The DCI detective was riding home on his motorcycle at around 9.00 p.m. when he was hit by an unknown motorist before speeding off.
Officers found Muganda lying on the scene of the accident with multiple injuries and rushed him to Kenyatta University Referral Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His National Identification card, Huduma Namba card, Police Service card, Ceska pistol, phone, DCI badge, ATM card, DCI driver’s permit, and a Sh200 note were recovered at the scene of the accident.
On Tuesday, DCI director Amin called for a thorough and swift investigation into his death and urged detectives to bring the suspect/s to book.
Amin eulogized Muganda, a creative designer who was behind the latest edition of the DCI Magazine, as a self-driven officer who performed his duties diligently. He said the deceased was hardworking and an inspiration to many people with whom he interacted with.
Muganda previously served at the forensic photographic unit of the DCI.
