Gachagua Tops the List of Most Searched Personalities in Kenya in 2022

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua topped the list of the most searched local personalities on Google in Kenya this year.

Gachagua, who has been nicknamed ‘Riggy G’ by social media users, was the most interesting person among Kenyans who sought to find out more about him after he was named the running mate of UDA presidential candidate William Ruto in May.

Data released by Google shows Gachagua’s interest on the search engine hit an all-time high between August 14th and 20th, the week following the August 9th general election. The top searches about him were ‘who is Rigathi Gachagua’ and ‘Rigathi Gachagua father’, Google said.

Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition deputy presidential candidate Martha Karua was the second most searched personality on the search engine, with her popularity on the platform spiking shortly after she was named the running mate of Raila Odinga on May 16th.
