Police Arrest Preacher Who Claimed Something Bad Will Happen to Ruto in 21 Days

Police have arrested an alleged prophet Joseph Otieno Chenge of Jerusalem Mowar Church who claimed that God directed him to meet President William Ruto within 21 days.
 
Police arrested the preacher together with his 11 followers at his church in Ruri East Sub-location in Mbita sub-county. Of the 11 nabbed, 6 were pastors at the church and 5 were patients. Both remain detained at Mbita Police Station on account of practising questionable religious practices. 

Homa Bay Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer Abed Kavo said that the fake prophet had been confining ailing individuals at his home in Lambwe Central Location in the guise of praying for their healing. He stated that his office has commenced an investigation into the matter. Mr Kavoo further disclosed that the preacher's church was operating without a registration license. 

“The patients have been detained in his church but some of them are in very a deplorable state. We suspect they were being offered prayers which changed their normal thinking,” Kavoo said. 

Kavoo lamented that Chenge detains patients yet he doesn't have any medical practitioner's license to grant him the authority to treat ailing people. He said that they have apprehended him early enough in a proactive move of preventing the preacher from causing any repercussions. 

Last week, Chenge issued his warning to journalists that something bad might happen should he fail to meet the head of state in 21 days. In between his revelation, Chenge spoke in tongues while shaking his head.
